Algae Question

Hey guys I am getting this red bacteria problem that is taking over my tank, the fish are all doing well

but since i started using Purple UP
It just got all over my rocks
I have a fish only tank now so not reef problems but is there something i can do about this.

do you guys think I have a nitrate or phosphate problem, because I might need a phosphate reactor since a have a lot of fish

I would say that one if not more of your parameters is out of whack. Test your tank for phosphates definitely but I would check your Cal, alk and mg too.

or should i do mutiple water changes first?

personally i would try doing multiple water change first, and also test the parameters.
try to siphon as much out algae as possible when doing the water change.

why are you using purple up?

Try finding out what is wrong first. WC's and chemi clean won't help you out if you don't know what the problem really is.

Yeah,Purple up is'nt really necessary if already have good calcium levels.It has too much of it in there.Probably threw your system out of whack.

increase water flow, are you using ro-di water ? you use phosban ? and how old are the bulbs

With your dosing you probably are causing the cyano, Please post your water parameters.
