No cyano in my tank.. It was actually bubble,, hard bubble algae covered in coraline,, purple coraline..

i have them. they seem to like to grow to a certain area, ie clinging on like barnacles. slow growers n easily scape off so not a big problem.

Valonia = bubble algae = bad

but as reefman stated, the are easy to remove & don't spread as much as common green bubble algae.

If you plan on removing it, do it out the tank to avoid bursting them & releasing spores.


My experience is...after I removed them, they eventually grew back on the frag it hitchhiked on.
I had to keep doing it, but it stay confined to that certain frag & never got out of control.
