about the blue hippo, i did think that he might have ich because it looked like he was scratching on the rocks. but i haven't seen him do it any other place. i think he kind of angles himself to graze in that particular spot because its close to the glass. i've been keeping an eye out on him, feeding a variety of food, some including garlic, and 3 different kinds of seaweed/algae. i'm pretty sure his immune system is doing well and he got a really nice healthy shine to him.

also, below is the best picture i could get of the eggs. pathetic i know. it is to the right of the anemone, on the rocks. little orange specks.

What were your water parameters at the time of the clam death? That might offer some clues.
