wingo,
looking to set up moon lights for my aga 210 (72 long x 24 wide x 29 high). I want the lights to be blue and to cast as little shadow from the cross braces as possible. I saw that you can put a dimmer on them also, which would be great. So for this setup I guess I need 6 LEDs, ac/dc adapter, and the dimmer. Let me know how much this would run me

4 red waterproof led's with long leads? can you get them?

Just a reminder the water proof led lamps are enclosed with stainless steel not acrylics therefore, good only for fresh water.

The 96/LEDs strip light, #4 in the link below, are water proof and runs on 12VDC $32

LED modules, #3 in the link below, water proof, will check if red is available

Reloading the pic to that thread, probably got rolled back by the database.

if you are talking about regular red leds longs legs, I have a whole bunch of them from japan but if they where ever soaked in salt water without thoroughly cleaning, the legs will deteriate.

wingo, I would like 2 blue LED strips to use as moon lights.

I would also like to use white LED strips to light the tank when the MH are not on.
They will not be used for growth, just watching the tank.
Do you think 4x1' long strips will be enough for this over a 5' long tank.
I would mount them to the sides of icecap pendants.

I also would like to try lighting a 30 gallon breeder tank to grow macro algae.
how many and which lights would you suggest for a 36x18x12 tank

thanks for the help.

Is the pendant very hot? If so no good. 4 x 1' strips will be too dim (only 6W plus these are made to look good not really illumination) in my opinion. You can consider the 96/LEDs cleared coated ones(made for illumination). They are 3 feet each(get 2) and can be cut at 1' mark. These are like 3W/ft. So 4' will give you 12W.

What's you current light on it? And are you home tonight, I can drop by to take a look.

thanks for the help.

I won't be home

I took the lights off the 30 breeder,it's just water sand and rocks now.
I was looking for a low watt solution to lighting it.

the icecap pendants do get hot, they are DE 250's

Once you get the LED strip you can compare how 3' PC actinic will compares to 3' 96/LEDs rope light.

Please do send me a pic so that I can see where to put the 96/LEDs rope is best for your case.
