I know I'll have to get rid of it, when it's 9' - 10" long.
I have raised them in the past, and they grow super fast.

Your sig says you have a 90? I'm not one who loves the tang police but those things get HUGE, I think almost a foot and a half. A tank double your size would have trouble keeping one of those. This has nothing to do with his trouble acclimating but something to think about.
