Flame angel not eating

I bought a Flame Angel last Thursday and the first 2 days it hid and only started coming out the other day,I know that's normal for them. Now that it's out it wants nothing to do with anything I try and feed it and just picks on the back wall of the tank. He's only in the tank with a pair of clownfish and so far I've fed SA Hatchery diet pellets and even small pieces of fresh salmon. Is it normal for them to take a little while to start eating? Other then that it's a beautiful fish it's 2 and half inches and not skinny at all.

Try live black worms and don't put anymore salmon in your tank

The salmon was for my clownfish, it's packed with protein and brings out the colors been using it for years even for my nems, only fresh fish store kind though. I'll give the black worms a try. Thanks

Ok, i'll try the salmon and LRS reef frenzy works like a charm too.

Yea I've heard great things about reef frenzy. I wanna try the live black worms but I'm not sure how the wife will feel about leftover worms in her fridge lol. Maybe mysis shrimp? Strange I've had flames in the past , all were shy at first but eventually started eating and ruled the tank

IME, flames can be hit and miss based on collection methods...

I know of reports of LRS reef frenzy causing problems with angels

Maybe try garlic to entice feeding

Well I found out why it wasn't eating, the ******* was to busy nipping my SPS. I wasn't home long enough the last few days to notice but I caught him red handed tonight. He's gone now.

flame angels are known to nip at ****, i wish i can keep one myself ! but LRS all my fish love that stuff
