fish disappearing

first a small goby now a 4'' anthias no sign of a body,could it be a green carpet that came into my tank as a hitchhiker when i first started the tank 3 years ago?there should be some sign of the body right?the carpet is the size of a softball

if it ate your 4" anthias, u show b able to see it in the carpet. my bet is its under a rock or outside the tank.
