Crabs in refugium?

I found two crabs (thinkg they call then gorilla crabs) in my tank and so i put them in my refugium thinking it would be better then throwing them in the sump. But was that a good idea or bad idea?... THoughts??

I have a small fuge area of about 4g with lots of macro algae, 3inch of live sand and one peace of live rock the size of a fist.

Heard some people getting bit by a crab when reaching in the sump and is why i placed the crabs in the fuge.

Dont see why not. Better than killing the poor guy

well if you have any other crabs,snails or anything else living in the fuge with them they will kill them. Crabs eat EVERYTHING.

x2...it's fine to keep them in the fuge as long as there aren't any other animals in there that maybe on the menu that you want to keep...

A crab will eat anything as already said including any algae you have thus transforming a fuge into a small crab tank. Buy a 10 gallon plumb it into your sump and let him be in there.
