question on a calcium reactor

does the return line from the calcium reactor have to go in the sump or can i put it in the DT.if it cant go into the DT can i use the black vinly hose from home depot or do i have use some other type of hose.the hose i got with it does not reach my sump.

I used to have mine go back into sump. Rather let the water mix in sump before going into DT. Don't let me be your only answer as others may have more info.

I would go back into sump imo, also the home depot hose should be fine if it the last stage hose, the hose from the co2 tank has to be a special c02 hose if not it will crack and leak

yeah charlie told me about the co2 hose.i bought a hose from home depot that was a little thicker then the normal air line tube i was going to try that..maybe not.i will hit awisco tomorrow and see if they have a co2 hose.my problem with the return hose to the sump is solved.charlie is hooking me up

duke it depend on your demand on the alk / ca if u use fine like me u will melt alot faster which mean u will need to refill it alot more BUt if u use the bigger argonite it will take longer time to melt which u dont have to refill as much it really depend on your demand

+1 but duke your size tank and demend might be 7-8 months before changing media

refilling totally depends on your tank needs. If it melts faster in 1 scenario, you're dosing more.
But different media has different melting points. You can use regular aragonite, but it has a lower pH melting point, so you'll end up using more co2 to melt it.
I would prefer using larger media though, because the smaller media can more easily turn to small dust-like particles which can clog your effluent if you're using something to pinch the tubing to limit the effluent
