Looks cool. Too bad they don't have more detail on which sp. of zooplankton they use.

"Guaranteed Analysis[SIZE=-1]:, Crude Protein 60% min, Crude Lipid 20% min, Ash 6% max, Crude Fiber 8% max, Moisture 6% max, Astaxanthin 150-200 ppm."[/SIZE]
Which looks like with the moisture being 6% it would be dry. But if no one else ordered a sample, I will post what It is when I get it.

To answer some commonly asked questions..
What is Reef-roids made of?
It is made of different species of select marine planktons and zookplanktons. One of the zooplankton strains in Reef-roids is actually unique to our product and is particularly palatable to the Goniopora genus. The planktons were chosen based on nutritional content, palatability to corals, organic and inorganic phosphate content. We feel that this product is THE best food available for filter feeding corals. It is very hard to overfeed the product and will not spoil your water quality.
Is your Reef-roids product the same as Golden Pearls?
No, not at all. Like most other "coral foods", Golden Pearls is made from ground-up processed fish meal. In our opinion, processed fish meal is one of the worst things you can put in a reef tank. It will break down quickly causing elevated phosphates and nitrates. Reef-roids does not contain any fish products and only consists of naturally occuring marine plankton.
Is Reef-roids good for SPS?
Reef-roids was made for Goniopora and any filter feeding LPS and softies. However, SPS corals will readily consume the food. Some SPS will temporarily produce mesenterial filaments when target fed this product. These filaments are often associated with coral stress. In this particular application, these filaments are NOT a reaction to a stress but a feeding response. (You can duplicate this response by target feeding any kind of coral food to SPS)
What makes Reef-roids different from all of the other coral foods out there?
- It is perfectly sized for Goniopora to eat.
- It does not rapidly break down and spoil water quality
- It is not made from processed fish meal
- Ideal size for filter feeders. (Around 100-150 microns)
How do you dose the product?
There will be an instruction sheet with your sample that will have dosing instructions.

Tried the Reef-Roids a few minutes ago. Maybe I didn't follow the instructions correctly, but it never quite dissolved completely for me :scratch:
I tried spot-feeding my Alveopora - no response. This wasn't a surprise, since it doesn't respond to anything, including Cyclop-Eeze :sleeping:
Next was the Duncanopsammia. It responded by closing in on the mixture. Again, no surprise, as this coral has eaten anything I've tried feeding it :eat:
My Trachyphyllia brain only seemed to extend its feeders more. I think the Reef-Roids mixture is too fine/small for this hearty eater. After that, I just dumped the remainder in the tank and turned on the in-tank circulation only.
A few acans and candy canes started to open, but never completely did. This was a new response, since they usually only open after lights out, even with Cyclop-Eeze in the tank. Tomorrow, I'll try spot feeding some zoas & ricordia. These two coral are typically non-responsive to all feeding attempts.

ok so i just put the 'roids in the tank... looking good!
my acan lord always eats anything i put on it, but it really extended its polyps more than i've noticed before. my GSP, even though I didn't spot feed it, really 'flattend out' (best I could descirbe it) and I actually saw each polyps mouth- something i've never noticed before. Didn't notice too much else differant about other corals reactions though.
I'll keep using it, maybe cycle it back and forth between phyto...
