Any LFS near congers NY

im heading up to congers in a bit to visit my uncle and wondering if there are any good LFS close by i should visit.dont want to go far from there so a 20 min ride would be my limit

There is Beital's in pearl river. Also there is Pets Place II in nanuet. Beital's is more of a fish store and they are kinda pricey, PPII is a pet store with a nice sized saltwater section. Both can be worth checking out.

EVERYTHING in beitals are overpriced. petplace II has good deals sometimes on softies

Beital's is over priced, and they do size you up somewhat before giving you a price. You also need to watch out if you buy any fish there, as most are diseased/sick and need to be QT before placing them into your tank. The fish in the Reef tanks seem somewhat better though, but still need to be QT, so, if you do buy some fish from them it would be better to get them from those tanks, or the small cube reef tanks in the front, as you walk in. The corals are pretty basic, nothing special and some have actually dead areas on them, they can be a little expensive too. On the plus side you'll probably see some of the largest fish you could possibly see, outside of maybe going to an aquarium. They do keep a lot of different fish, and full sizes too.

As for PetPlace II, well I haven't been there in a month or so but the fish aren't in the best of shape, you really need to be careful before buying a fish from them. The corals are ok, but expensive. It worth looking into but not a big deal if you don't stop by.

ok seems like im not going to either of those places..im looking for fish.im not really looking for corals.

If you're looking for fish I would check out Beital's, as they have almost any fish that you can think of, just be careful before you buy and QT any fish you do.

gosh I went to that place once and it was like I was bothering them that I was there...and they made up ridiculous prices on the fly. but, best of luck...you're not new to the game and know what things should cost etc.
