I don't know about the "octopus bh 2000 hob skimmer", however, I have a Remora and a Remora Pro and on both tanks, I love them. Drain feature is awesome and both are set to forget...

Only suggestion on them, is to use the largest pump recommended, increases performance. What I also like, is that I hardly ever clean them, and they both work great dirty. I mention this, because some skimmers have to be clean to work well and these guys work either way. However, every couple of weeks, I do clean them...

I had recently purchased the Remora and used vinegar water to break it in. It literally started pulling in a lot of gunk the first day...

I have the bh2000 and a remora and a Tunze 9002. I tried have tried all 3. While I didn't have the Remora Pro, the regular remora is almost the same.

I have/had on a Biocube 29. Tunze did not skim well. Remora was great, it did a much better job than the tunze, and the BH2000 is so much better than the Remora. It migh be overskimming, but the skimmer is much better. Brown skimmate within the first 2 days, while the remora was clear a couple of days before. The Bh2000 is a bit noisy from the air being sucked in for the pump. I have to turn off the skimmer when I go to sleep. I am looking to build a DIY air silencer.

Bio load has not changed in 7 months, feeding has been identical for 8 months, pinch of flake everyday.

Otherwise, BH2000 is much better.

I can compare the Tunze 9002 to the Aqua C Remora. I first had the Tunze 9002 and it skimmed very well but was very sensitive to water height in the sump. Also, when I shut the pumps off to feed my tank, the Tunze use to get flooded and it would take several hours to get back on track. That was until I did a recommended mod.

I really liked the Tunze 9002, but since it was not set and forget, I found that when I went away for a few weeks and had someone to take care of my tank, they were told to leave it alone and it needed to be tweaked during the time period and was useless without me being there.

Now compare my display tank. No one touched tank for 3 weeks except feeding and tank looked fine after a large water change. That's when I decided to go with the Aqua C Remora on my nano tank. Truly, set and forget.

As for comparing, Tunze 9002 and Aqua C Remora both worked well, just that the Aqua C Remora with the drain feature is awesome along with set and forget...

One benefit for the Tunze 9002 is it fits in the sump of my Solana and the Aqua C Remora is HOB so it shows itself in the back, where the Tunze was mostly hidden and looked a lot better for my rimless look, than a HOB.
