Nice pictures, how old are the hatchlings. When I had my tomato clowns and they laid eggs they always hatch at night, after the lights were off. Made if hard to get the babies out of the tank.
They are ocellaris clowns (false percs)
I have a pair of saddleback clowns here in NY that are currently displaying mating behaviour, so i may have a spawning event here. The clowns in the pictures spawned about three times in about two weeks and my cousin is curently raising 300 or so fry.
Is it really possible to grow out adult clown from home aquarium? Won't you need to feed them, change water, culture livefood, etc often.. And I mean often.. And does it take a long time to have decent size clown?? I see it pretty hard to raise fry..
my friend fully raised them in 10 gallon, all his clowns started spawning in 10 gallons and he raised them in 10 gallons to adult size. now he sells them
Yeah, its a big pain in the arse. You have to grow phytoplankton which you use to feed Rotifers which you can feed to the fry when they are small. Then you can mix newly hatch brine shrimp in when they get a little bigger. Feeding the fry is by far the hardest part of breeding clowns. But there's plenty of info out there on how to do it
Spykes I might be looking for a couple of small maroons when i get my new tank up and running. how much does your friend sell his fish for?
aroon he can accept orders for maroons very soon, he will be sending me two clarkiis if people want to order maroon pairs it will be cheap for shipping. since we can all share it hehhe
not it's not that hard after like few trials of death. hehhe, but i can tell you these are tank raised maroons and this batch is 15 days old, and needs a month to mature before shipping, i need names and people who are sure on their order..
whoever wants clarkiis they are ready to ship.
these are gold tripe maroons not regulers
