So my reef ready 120 has two overflows, and i cannot stand having the rubber hose from the return connecting to the one return pump underneath.

I was wondering if i can make a nice clean sump.... that has a return for each over flow. I can put in the middle the protein skimmer/ refugium section and the sides the return pump and where the water from the tank comes?

I would love if anyone has suggestion on how to map this, i would love to make this a diy sump. I have the triggersystems sump but may have lost some money on that because i don't really like it.

I have a standard cabinet so would like to squeeze in the biggest sump possible. I want two returns, refugium, protein skimmer section. I want this to be a simple clean looking sump.
ANy advice!!!

I can't tell you how to map out your sump!

I simply wanted to state that I run 2 individual return pumps, always have, and always will.;)
My reason? If one fails the other is still going.;)

Matter of fact it so happened a few years ago one of my chocolate chip starfish managed to get in my external pump (before I put a screen on it), and of course clogged it. Previous to that many many years ago I had an eel get in the return pump as well, that time I didn't have the back up.

yes it is possible, you would just need to use half gph rating to achive your water turnover. Just remember that you would be using twice the electricity, and adding twice the heat if they are internal pumps. Also twice the maintenace.
