Keeping Ones' Socks Straight.

A little issue of mine has been keeping my filter socks from rising and folding over from air bubbles in the return water while working in the sump . I thought about throwing a piece of live rock in them to keep them down but thought the constant water flow beating on them would to wear out the sock much more quickly. One reefkeeper here said he uses marbles. Are they chemically inert? Any other suggestions?

Clear marbles from the craft store are inert. I wouldn't trust the ones that have colors. Especially the older colored ones since they used to use heavy metals to create the different colors.

would you fill the whole bag up with marbles or half way...

and for 64 ivy are you using a filter sock holder ?

i use about a 4'' pvc pipe that it attact to the drain of the tank so it sits in side of the sock

The PVC is a good idea. And yes, I do have a sock holder.
