i use eggcrate.. you can get a 4ft x 2ft sheet at home depot for 6$ and then cut it to size..

more like $12+ in NY Home Depots... problem is, a lot of wrasses, dartfish, firefish can easily shot right thru it!

Pond netting also works well , alot of screen repair places cwn make you a cstom lid

thanks guys, i think i am going to just use my canopy as a cover that should keep all my fishes in right? i just havent had it on because i didnt figure out how i could vent out all the heat being created from the light but i decided i was gonna just cut 2 big squares one on each side at the top of the canopy so the heat can escape through the top. you think this will keep my tank temp from rising?

I think you should avoid that in the summer but you should be ok in the winter months.
