question for new members, how did you hear of MR ?

Just wondering how people are finding the site.

I think I saw it mentioned on RC, or someone told me about it, I can't remember for sure.

I'm a kinda new member only been here since January. I heard about it from someone on reefcentral that bought something from me. Then I came here and couldn't figure out how to make an account so I just read stuff for like 6 months til I figured it out. Yes I am that slow.

Actually, I really don't remember who or why I came over here.. I think I saw it mention in RC or maybe I was searching for fish, coral and came across this board. I'm putting my bet on the searching... I was so happy to find a local reef forum so close to me..

i think i found it from a search on the web looking for some local clubs for reefing.

maybe we should make our own club with speakers and things to meet maybe every other month or something like that.
The brooklyn aquarium society never worked for me as they meet on friday nights, plus they dont seem very open and friendly (havent heard many good things about them either). let's compete!

that's a good idea Albert.
however we have trouble just getting together to make a skimmer , so let's hear what other people think of the idea.
who would come talk to us? are we a club or a website? both?
so many questions.

I have heard from people that like MR over other local clubs because we are friendly and open and very helpful. those are great things to hear, so as far as I'm concerned there's no competition

I'd like to see MR grow and keep all those great qualities. How you do that I'm not sure. ideas?

I was in a bathroom downtown and there was this picture of a guy and it said he was "friendly" and it said he had a website. It said it was called manreef but that the address was manhattanreefs.com. Who knew.


hell, I don't even have a tank, I just come here hoping to find that guy.

this is great info. so to find new members all we have to do is write Shauns number and MR's adress in all the bathrooms in the west village. who knew it would be that easy?
