The one corner overflow unfortunately doesn't give enough information. A 1" overflow will allow 600 gph to flow through it. The mathematics of it change a bit. A 2" overflow will permit more flow than two 1" pipes (less pvc material causing friction).
Those tank dimensions you gave equate to a 150 gallon tank. I like the idea of one center overflow better than one in the corner. You can split the return to either side of the overflow box and create some nice surface agitation.
You also don't have to go with a huge, monster return pump. Circulation can be attained by a closed loop and/or powerheads. The overflow just has to handle enough water to adequately handle the requirements of your skimmer, UV, CR, fuge, etc.
Keep in mind, all this is JMO. There are varying schools of thought and lots of right ways to do things. You have to be comfortable with your husbandry and maintenance routine.
