Am I wrong in thinking?

I recently made a purchase from a vendor from here. It was a pretty expensive order of cleaner crew and fish. One of the fish arrived dead. I understand this is bound to happen but when I contacted the the vendor they offered me a credit or ship another fish but I would have to pay for the shipping. I guess my question is is this the norm? I will not mention the vendor.

Almost always gotta pay for shipping again when u have a DOA from just about any place

Generally so. Each vendor has its on policy and will bend certain things for certain people.

yeah i stopped ordering livestock over the internet.ill order dry goods but the hasselll of buying livestock outweighs the good price.all the lfs carry the fish i want and i get most my corals from people here
