So, I have a nice clam I got at the swap that has been doing well, but unfortunately it has become evident that its mantle has somehow become pinched.

I'm considering doing a series of FW dips, but I'm leaving town on Thursday (12.28) and won't be back until late on Tuesday night, so I'm a little apprehensive. Any ideas?

Do what Randy suggested and if you suspect something is bothering it, make a cage out of eggcrate or flipped food container with holes in it to protect it from predators. I don't know if you have any of those, but both my algae blenny and christmas wrasse were picking at my clam to the point where it died.

I have high hopes for the dip because its foot doesn't seem damaged at all, and it's responding to light changes a little bit. The thing I'm really concerned about is leaving it in the tank when I'm out of town if it isn't looking any better.
