I am currently battling GHA and the last couple of weeks I have noticed on the a couple of rocks that have it, there is a super clean spot where you can actually see the purple on the rock. I couldn't figure what was actually eating it, since nothing in my tank is a known GHA eater...then while I was cleaning my tank today, I noticed my conch going up the back of the tank right through a patch of GHA and he left a nice clean trail behind...I was just watching him right now and he is actually eating it!!
I had no idea that conches ate it...my first conch used to dig around in the sand and I never saw him on the glass...this guy is 'hops' around the sand and goes on the glass...I am not even sure what type of conch he even is, but I am sure glad he has an appetite for GHA!! Lord knows my tank right now is feast fit for a king of GHA lovers!
