Aragonite Sand

Im breaking down my 29 gallon African Cichlid tank and doing a 57 gallon reef tank. I would like to know if it would be ok to use the Aragonite sand (30 pds worth) that I have in my Cichlid tank in the saltwater system as a base a then put new live sand over it.

Dump the sand, the age and the crap stuck in there even after washing could have undesirable effect later on.

I see what you are saying. I put the sand in the Cichlid tank about 2 months ago. Does that matter.
