Funny observation today,
Anyway, picked up a 3" copperbanded butterfly last week and noticed he had ich on day 2, so I moved it out of my frag tank, and into a dry tank with an old dry sponge filter to prepare for cupramine dosing.
"This is when I shall start training him onto frozen food" ,
so I start hatching out brine shrimp to use as a bridge/training food,
On day 4, 2 days after adding half dosage of copper, I noticed there was a cloudiness to the water and said,
"there's classic new tank syndrome"
and did a 50% water change. Unfortunately he wasn't going for the brine, and I'm thinking,
"Darn it, more waste pollution."
Finally today, day 7, the copper levels are up to full strenght, but he still didn't eat the baby brine I put in there 3 days ago, so flip on the light to see how much of the baby brine died and rotted away. After all they only live about a day and a half after hatching.
"Maybe time for another water change"
AND to my surprise, none and died, they have all grown and filtered fed on the bacterial bloom in the water to a crystal clarity. At least they are good for something.
But gosh darn it, they are still there, and the butterfly still didn't eat them.
