I was reading the post about LED lights and now I am considering of switching my 96w Act 03 pc light into LED light. Currently I have a 10k 96w, Act03 96w (looks purple-ish), and Act03 65w (blue) on my 55 gal.

how many strips of LB1 be enough to replace the 96w Act03
each strip have 6 bulbs, the blue ones are:
470 nm, 6500 mcd, 118 ma, 90 degree angle
or
470 nm, 7500 mcd, 74 ma, 50 degree angle

Is any of these bulbs enough?

It's hard to say. As you can see from my thread, the set up I used was completely experimental. I had no idea what to expect. I had a back up MH set up in case it failed. I lucked out so far and found the results "GOOD". If you've got a little disposable income, you can try to augment your current actinics. For expamle, replace the 65 watt with one of those light bars of at least equal length. See how it goes and then consider replacing the 96 watt with LED bars and put the 65 watt back in service. If you're happy, replace all your actinics with the LED bars. Key is, take your time and keep your back up, in your case the pc's, accessible so if it doesn't work out, you can switch back.
I would go with the set up with the 90 degree spread. My biggest complaint about the set up I have now is that the angle from the bulbs is way too narrow.
You can also wait until Ice Cap puts out their LED fixtures. As you can see from tuillo's post, there are things they can do that us hobbyists can't with a DIY project.

You will need too much money and too many bars to replace a 96W Act03 at the price of that web sites.
