I had a large Rose BTA splt for me last week. The split finaly got up and moving around today. I happen to notice him sucked onto the grill of the MP10. He was there for no more than 30 min. I am not sure if i should be concerned. Right now i have it sitting in a small container. Shoukd it be ok to put back in my tank and put the foam guard on my MP10 or should i qt it and observe for a few days?

I do not think much damage was done but i also know they are very delicate. Just not sure how concerned i should be. Here is a photo i took about 10 min after he came out of the MP10 grill...

If you don't have a proper QT tank (light/circulation/heat) to place it into, then you have no choice but to either give up on it entirely or put it back in your tank and take your chances. Yes, you should put the foam back on there and you might want to slow down the flow until it sets it foot back down.
I think seeing if it plants it's foot would be a good indicator of whether it might heal. I would chance it and put it back into the tank if it was me - but keep a really close eye on it becasue it can wipe out your tank if it dies.

Thanks for the input. Since i do not have QT tank i will put it back in the main display. It is reponding to light and its foot has suction on the container i placed it in. I will observe very closely for the next few days.

As far as my QT tank all i have is a 5.5 gallon tank with 10 watt compact fluorescent bulb. I doubt that will work.

Best to go back into your main tank then. It doesn't need to be dealing with different water/light parameters on top of healing.

Don't forget the foam!!

Good luck with him and please do let us know how things go!
Fingers crossed! :)
