How do you guys get super glue or epoxy to work underwater?

Used some tlf epoxy to put some rocks together before they hit the water and that worked great..but every time I have ever used epoxy or super glue underwater I windup making a mess and get more on my fingers with about 1 out of 5 success rate on getting my frags to stick were I want them.
Have watched a few utube video and read all the various advice and it all looks/sounds easy but for some reason can never get it to work well for me.

Are there specific brands that work better than others? Is thethereme secret technique that gets passed along in back fish rooms that I'm not privy to?

The gel super glue when put into water creates a skin. The idea behind it is to squeeze out a big blob, place it where you want it and then mash it with whatever you want to place slowly moving and grinding the two pieces together. You break that "skin" that forms and the glue inside the blob gets stuck on both pieces. Its a ton easier to apply if you put the glue on the first piece out of the water with a good amount of glue.

Epoxy isn't a 'glue' and is almost useless when trying to attach 2 smooth pieces together. The objects you are attaching must have indentations in them for the epoxy to grab into for it to work.

If you are asking about gluing frags and having issues with the crazy glue...are you using the gel formula? If not, you need to as regular crazy glue is too 'liquid' to use.

Before you put the frag in the tank put a decent sized glob of glue on the bottom of the frag. As soon as the frag hit the water the glue will form a skin coat over the glue. When you get the frag to where you want it to attach, you need to 'twist' the frag into place - so the skin breaks. Then hold the frag in place for a solid 10+ seconds and it should stick.

What type/brand of glue are you using?

If you use both glue and epoxy... then you should have no problems form fitting onto rock.
Really though.. I shouldn't have to explain that any further. So far the best one I have come across is the Loctite Gel.

I've been mixing the epoxy with wet hands so that explains that one.
On the super glue all I had around was the regular not gel and it would just float to the top, drip on my hands...so the gel advice is solid (was thinking that but the specific brand suggestions help...tnaks)

(not trying to hijack thread, thought it was relevant to ask here)

If i am not mistaken the TLF epoxy is water activated so once you start touching it with your wet hands you are activating the hardening process. If you rip a piece off and roll it around with your fingers so it all turns the same color then place it on the frag and dunk it into your tank you should be good. Thats how I do it.
