xenia move around. mine migrated from a rock touching the back wall all the way to the upper right of wall... also i wouldn't rubber band the soft tissue of the xenia to the rock. i would try to gently stick them in a crevice with an area of low flow so the "foot" can naturally attach itself

personally i would thank them for disapearing :) but if you like them next time get a flat piece of rock or piece of a frag plug use a piece of a pvc pipe that will surround the whole rock in a real low flow area put the zenia in there and in a day or 2 they will attach then take that flat rock and glue it to the over flow

Zoas will grow on overflow boxes also. Best to glue them on there using a small piece of rock rubble and eventually they will grow off the rock and onto the overflow.
