solana tank help !!

I just the bought solana 34 GL I want to know if the filtration is good enough or should I cut out the back and put a big skimmer ?

Cut out the back? Yeah, I wouldnt do that. What are you planning on stocking it with? Comes with a skimmer in it that should work with the typical bio load of a tank that size. Otherwise, with regular water changes you shouldnt have any issues. Unless youre planning on keeping a dolphin in it.

No I'm planing to keep baby whales ... Lol no I was told the filtration wasn't that good ... So if I could go with a big skimmer why not ??

whoever told u the filtration isn't that good is wrong, Tons of success with the 34gal solana All in one tanks.

If you want to get crazy, remove the stock skimmer and replace with a deltec mce 300/600.

The mce600 would probably be the best hang on you could find.

Sounds good ... But is this the best route to go ?? I thing a great hang on skimmer will be better then any aio !? And buy a mp 20 es for water movement .... What do U think ??

My tank has been running for alittle more then 2 yrs. Stock skimmer works fine for me only thing I did was put in a larger return pump and ran a tlf reactor inline .

if you want the best of the best the deltec mce600 is a great hang on skimmer, probably as good as it gets. an MP10 will be fine.

everything depends on livestock choices.

hi there,

i have the Solana 34 setup. i'm using the stock skimmer with it. in the middle, i've added a solana media basket with the sponge on the top and then chemipure and purigen on the other chambers. there are others who have upgraded the skimmer but ours is working pretty good.

You can get nuts like me and remove the whole back drill and install a sump.

Stock skimmer works decently, but will eventually fall apart on you, literally.I use a Tunze 9002 with mod'ed airline tube and square collection cup.

I use chemipure elite in middle chamber along with rock rubble and cheato with (sump)lighting on reverse of main lighting. I have a mediabaskets.com/ triple chamber insert (also where I picked up my square skimmer collection cup).

Phosban in the reactor I run chemipure elite ,rock,filter floss in middle if you upgrade the pump be careful limited space in 3rd chamber I got a rio pump got to check what it's rated for . Don't remember off hand. Also have my ato in the 3rd chamber . I picked up a new media basket so I can grow algae just haven't had time to put it in . I have been thinking about upgrading the skimmer . But I don't want a big thing hanging off the back of the tank I like the clean look of nothing exsposed I feel hanging a monster skimmer off the back kinda defeats the reason I went with an aio
