Bubbles from sandbed?..hmmm

I just replaced the bulbs on my 65 gal. set up.4x96 watt PC's 2 10,000k 2 atinic.Today i noticed bubbles comming from the sand bed.Anyone ever have this? Is this the begining of a alge bloom? I never noticed it until today

Not sure if that means that your deep sand bed (that is assuming you have one of course) is working. Might be the nitrates reduced to gas.

That's exactly what it is - byproduct on the denitrifying process.

Dopler, thanks again for the bulbs, tank has perked up unbelievably - what a difference new bulbs can make.
