Powerhead questions Need advice

Hi,

So im going to set up a 57 deep blue rimless aquarium. What powerheads should I use? I was thinking 2x of Koralia Evolution Water Pump - 4.5W - 600 gph ($27). Will this work. This is going to be a mixed reef. THanks!

I've always heard the more the better. 20-30x turnover rate if I remember correctly. Also is very subjective, depending on what corals you will be keeping.

That's probably not going to be enough flow. If you have the budget, a few controllable power heads like Tunzes or Vortechs would be nice.

If not, I would recommend at least another 600, or maybe switching one or two out for the 1000gph model.

You should go with two Koralia 1400. With your corals growing, the flow will get hindered. Two K-1400 should be good flow even if you want to keep SPS as a start.

I have that same tank, I would go with two mp10es or two korila 1050 .... Depending on the corals you are putting in...... I have notice most LPS,zoas,softies don't need/like heavy flow... While sps loves it... And that's where controllable pumps come in, if the budget allows....

I have that tank as well and the MP10's barely hold on the glass. If I touch mine they fall off. I still run them though as the flow is perfect for the tank. If you do go with the MP10 make sure to use two of the stickies that come with them. They are all so a lot more money than Koralias.
