swc 160 extreme pump startup

having problems with startup, skimmer is about 18 months old want to fix problem does anyone have specific information on pump replacement to fix, the site[ salt water connection] is the only one that has pumps. what about alternate pumps mod...need help with actual solution ...the more i read the more the SWC 160 ETREME CONE has confirmed problems with start up..if i buy new pump same problem will occur again.

Is the pump inside the body of the skimmer? If so, it's going to be very difficult to find a replacement pump to fit that's not the exact same pump. Atman pumps are cheap, and shouldn't be tough to find if you ask around at your LFS.

There's always the option of buying another skimmer as well, if you have the funds.
