Hi!

I am looking into an RO/DI System for my tank. I'm currently looking at SpectraPure. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? The other question I have is that there is an RO system or an RO/DI system available. How much difference does it make if I go for the RO/DI vs. just RO?

ro/di... you can purchase an ro unit for drinking only. the di stands for the deionizing resin that is used to remove further small impurities. di units can be added on, but is not safe to drink water from.
most rodi units do the same thing, however what you may want to look into is a pump for pressurizing the water if you have low water pressure, this will allow for better water production and take ease off killing the membrane.

THanks! Had no idea you can't drink RODI water--- How come?

The deionizing process leaves the water with exactly what you'd expect, zero ions. It honestly only becomes problematic for drinking if you're an athlete that seriously exerts him/her self. For instance, if you're a marathoner and you're running great distances, sweating profusely (expelling electrolytes), and you drink deionized water, the DI water can actually absorb even more electrolytes from your body. This is one of the reasons Gatorade is a commonly ingested drink, to replace electrolytes.
