Hello reefers it's been awhile since i post my last thread!!

I hope everyone had a good holidays and enjoyed the last year , !!

Ok i have a question about storage ro/di water , since than i have my system i start to storage some water from this system , because it takes some time to have a few gallons, every time than i running my system i use a TDS meter to check the water is clean , and i save some gallons in a milk gallons, i clean them very carefully with some ro/di water and i start to save the there, but today i just check one of my last gallons with water and i get notice than the water parameter goes a little up! Than to be 0ppm goes to 26ppm , i'm not sure if this is right or may be is not a good idea save the water in this kind of container ! But my under sink is to little than is the only way to save some water to use it when i need it!!

Thank you reefers to read me, i hope somebody could tell me what is wrong ! And what is the best way to save some safe water..

Have a great day all of you!!!

If the water coming out of your ro/di unit is measuring a TDS of zero, and it then measures a TDS of 26 after it has been placed in your empty milk containers, then the containers likely aren't totally clean.
As a vessel that is supposed to be 'food safe grade', it would not be leeching anything into your water, so a dirty container would be the only option.

I assume there have caps on them when they are being stored?
Are you cleaning the caps before using those?
Is there something you might be using to transfer the water into those containers that might be tainting it?

Thanks your answer KathyC!!

Well every time than i used the water of the containers i rinse them with clean ro / di water before use them again! And also when i'm filling with the water i try to keep them out of anything than could get dirt the water!! And i'll check the water once is in the container and every time is 0 tds , but i just checked the last gallon of water than i had with the tds meter and shows the water was 26ppm !! The water was storage by 3 or 4 days always closed , without any leaking water!!

I'll check the new water tomorrow to see if anything change , and i'll let you reefers know is something change !!

Thank you so much for your help! Have a great day

Have you tested the RO/DI water in the milk container immediately after filling it? We know you are using zero TDS water when you fill it, but does the water remain zero after you fill the container, or does the water become contaminated with rising TDS due to storage?

Good question!! You know when i'm filling it , i fill a little a cup and i check it and the tds marks 0 ppm but i've never been checked when the gallon is full, now you makes me think about it!! I'll do it tonight when i go from work!! I'll check and i'll let you know!!

Milk contains fat. Washing a container with rodi is really just rinsing. My money is on dirty container. Try washing with hot tap water and a little bleach. Then rinsing with rodi.
