I have a 40 breeder set up it has no sump !
I have alot of nice frags I'm planning on transferring to a lg system in a few months !
It's in a laundry room with no AC so I'm worried in summer will get too hot!

There is a 1/3 hp drop in trade winds chiller FS right now can I put probe directly into the glass display??

I don't care about how it looks just wanna make sure it won't breat glass or something ?
Also is a 1/3 hp chiller way to big for 40 breeder I plan on building a 2-3 hundred gallon when I buy house so if I could use on that also great

imo, the drop in coil is not such a good idea in this size tank. you'll need to circulate the water surrounding the coil really well to get away with it.....but i think it would still cause uneven temperature zones in there. not a big fan of drop in chiller.

i would go for an inline chiller....1/10 or so for that size tank...but it would pretty much useless on a big tank(anything bigger than a 75'ish).

i have a 300 gal. total volume with over a 1000 watts of halides, vho's, and leds, the trade wind 1/2 hp inline chiller does its job keeping the temp. at 79 +/- 1 degree.

Thanks Tom there r actually 2 mp 40 in the tank !

Really only for 6-8weeks when it's really hot and probe will be behind rock work I can point power head at it?
I know it's not ideal but looking for temp fix!
I don't wanna do an inline because tank is at inlaws house that's why I went sump less don't want anything that can leak

Obviously I will run a fan between my t5s and surface of water but this room can get very very hot !
