Sand question

I have no cyano in my tank now. I would like to and another inch and a half or so. Will that start a NTS again?

I've added live and dead sand to my tank with no problems athough others were against it. You'll have a dust storm for sure though...

You will probably get a mini cycle with live sand. If your tank is well established, I
I'd say just add dead sand. It should populate pretty quickly from your existing sand bed.
