is it me or doesnt anybody appreciate the fact that the better stores hold stock for a few days to acclimate and ascertain if the product is in healty condition to sell? I personally have never had good results with right out the box from a LFS. Some of the places accually refuse to sell but will hold with payment until its ready to go. Or you tell the LFS what you are looking for and as long as you dont flake it will be there ready and waiting. They call, email, and post on all the sites whats in, whats comming in and what might come in on a regular basis. My email is full from all the places I shop. So fellas whats the rush? LFS will get deliveries during the week and still have sale items on weekends. This is all being blown out of proportion. Maybe Im wrong?
Yes you are correct, The proper methods are never taken. Fish for instance should never be sold the same day as received , Where I help out we never sell fish the same day, They would die .. Corals on the other hand dont have the issue where the PH drops in the bag,Its better to discard the old water and put the corals in fresh clean water,
So selling corals the same day, Is not that bad.. minus that fact of pests you might have, which I strongly recommend personal practice of QTing ,You should never take someone else's word , DIP DIP DIP>>
I dont know a single shop nor a single distributor thats holds there live stock for 3 weeks. Maybe there's a few shops out there im not aware of. But Corals should be temp acclimated and then added to clean water, Then sent in a qt system for 3 weeks and dipped. ( I know no one that dose that practice )
Now as far as shipments going up in price, air cargo hasn't slowed down, If you own a restaurant, ECT.. you can still get cargo on sunday's, US customs is not closing for the weekend's its just fish and wild life , As I said in fact its cheaper on weekdays to get shipments you dont have to pay overtime fees to the fish and wildlife.
