I purchased a True Perc yesterday and acclimated it for 4 hrs before introducing it into my tank. I usually have a new fish placed in my in-tank quarantine breeder refug. This morning I woke up to find "Bebot," her name, swimming vertically and breathing very heavily. Last night she looked OK. I don't know what to do. I've never had a fish death in my tank. And, all my other livestock and fish are doing fine. Is there anything I can do? Anything I can add to the tank? Melafix?....sigh :help:

P.S.
Last time I did a WC was on Thursday, I changed rougly 40%.

I would not add anything to the display that I wasn't 100% sure was invert/coral safe froggie. Keep an eye on it is it eating at all?

You may want to try a PVC fitting to give him a hiding place. If you're going to do any meds I agree with Chief, not in the display. If you can get a small 5 or 10 gallon tank, fill it with the same water from the display. A small air-stone only and you can medicate that way.

Hope he makes it.

Yeah I got 2 clown gobies and a six-line. I know the bio-load is high but thats why I do a 40-50% WC a week. They're all swimming around happily though.

Will do Russ. I was thinking Melafix.

Sigh, if this girl doesnt make it, I'm not adding anymore fish, which I should have been doing.

That bioload is not too excessive considering the size of all the fish.
In a separate tank I'd consider the melafix, not in your display. Your display is running just great, don't jeopardize that.

Dude fill up a container tupperware or one of those ziplock ones like you have in the picture. then dose him if that's the route you're gonna go. I have Pimafix and melafix if you want it, I'm workin tonite and there's 3 6-train stops in my precinct.

Any stray current in there?

Not sure what you're asking about. You mean like crazy flow? She was in the lil' breeder thingymajiggy which cuts a lot of current but has slits on the side for decent water exchange.
