wth. are people on crack?

I am getting crazy PMs on reef central asking for the mp10Wes white box for 200 for 2.

another asking for 140 each.

I kknow manuf date is actually nov 2010 and nov 2011 which ill add pictures later today but am I missing something because I have not seen 1 for sale less than 190. I check market value before I place my ads.

90% are sellling at 220+

I hate some type of buyers that try to lowball the shiz out of you. I rather keep the equipment if I dont get my asking price.

I can only speak for myself. I picked up a literally brand new unit never saw water for $200. MP10. Retail is $235 and $285 if I'm not mistaken. For $50 extra bucks people choose to get the new unit and warranty. Just my .02

If they are in good condition and the ceramic shaft is in mint condition they are easily worth 200 a piece since that's realistically the only thing that goes wrong.

If the ceramic shaft has cracking it will need to be changed and they shouldn't be fetching as high of a resale.

They are a great product that has a large demand why should they be devalued. If they are functional they warrant the high resale. It sure makes me happy that an item I purchased retains a high used resale

for $50.00 more i would buy new delivered to my door, with a factory warranty. especially electronics.
imo as soon as you buy it and use it, it drops 1/3 off retail.

You are correct. This is the $285 version. so more like taking off 285 + tax + possible shipping charges. The market value is based on what others are willing to pay for a certain product and supply / demand is what keeps it's value.

Please show me a thread that lasted longer than a few days for a mp10WES for under that 190 price I located.

Everyone has their right to their opinion especially when buying and selling so in no way is one person right or wrong. If the price was overboard then definitely understand that view point. Marking it appropriately then getting those lowball offers is what annoyed me.

Bluebox mp10es would still probably fetch a minimum of 110-130.

fortunate for ecotech sellers that the items have high resale value but unless they are still under warranty no one should pay more than 50% percent of the BNIB retail value.

However, some human beings dont realize this and we jump on a "deal" when we see it.

I own two vortechs, MP40 and MP10, tried buying used and it was not worth it, purchased new instead.

the only person that I have seen price a MP40 fairly is EDD from NJ.

I am all for fair deals and personally if there is reasonable doubt I lied to the buyer and there was defective with my sold item. I would refund their money.

I have done this for rims sold after 2 weeks. I am probably the most reasonable seller as long as I see logically it was my fault.

I normally take pictures/videos of all my items sold prior to show they are working. If the person calls me 2 days later saying it's cracked and not working. Obviously, this wasn't by me. I prefer not selling my items if they are not in a condition I would purchase it. I like having local buyers as they see the item prior.

To say 50% or below is required by your statement, in my eyes is a bit ridiculous without any other info. You should sell me your used car for 50% of BNIB. ha

I won't get into a back and forth with you but...

You have to compare apples to apples.

Aquarium pump and car is not apples to apples.

I am sure you understand the depreciation and resale value principles of automobiles.

This is a hobby and I think its silly to pay $400 for a used apex that is out of warranty, for that I pay $500. Sell it to me for $200-$300 and I may buy it IF I can test it for a week or two.

MP pumps same thing, $285 gets me a new one with peace of mind, why pay $200 for a used out of warranty one.....

Listen, most ppl won't read this thread and you will find a buyer to give u exactly what u want...we like getting "deals".

I know my reasoning is sound and wise and if it bothers just remember its just my opinion.

That is correct. 285shipped from amazon and ebay.

If you feel like saving $170, from a known good seller. Is there a difference?

I should be more willing to ask myself if I would purchase at the asking price?

[a] priced fair vs competing ads or past ads
condition of mp10
[c] condition of controller
[d] supply and demand - how many others are selling at this time. Maybe lower price to compete.
[e] retail vs used - pros and cons into consideration
[f] if used, seller rating

I think these are determining prices. Vortech mp10s are like MAC books and like AI SOLs once held their prices. If you want to have a nice clean look get mp10s. If you are on a budget, your best option is buy used from a good seller. That's how I see it atleast.

Many retailers and vendors offer the same price with shipping included.

I got the mp10 from drfosterand smith and the mp40 from a vendor, same price as anywhere else including ebay and amazon.

I think there is an agreement not to discount these pumps, price is uniform across all retailers

I think most individuals are getting confused on priced based on model. Sure, I've seen mp10s for 140-160 but they were mp10es or blue box. If you don't care about the wireless feature then that's a good price and good buy!

blue box is the original style but I believe they also made the blue boxes in another version. ES is not wireless so it does not communicate to other mp10s. So asking 170 and original price is $235.
