i think , first have to increase water flow, return pump was off ?( when take the pics.) than Nitrate + Phos. levels. Also the turbo snail , not sure if is good idea, he may mess up u floating switch. I got in past that problem, he (hermit crab) was resting on floating switch and over flow the swamp.

+1, it is not uncommon, add some flow. I would probably take out the clump of macro algae and give it a good shake in some salt water in a bucket, get all the detritus off

Mag 7 seems a little to small for 140g. A bigger return would probably give you a better turn over rate. Which in turn give you better flow in your sump.

How many dursos do you have and what are the sizes. if you have your dursos open all the way then adding a bigger pump will do nothing but fill up your tank quick. Which then you will have to dial the pump back and have wasted your money :)..

as stated it would be wise to take out the algae and shake out the garbage that gets stuck in it. Also i hope your using rodi, phosban, and have a good cleanup crew. Have you tryed replacing the bulb that you have for the macro?

I have 2 overflows w/dursos. I've been peeling the slime out. Yes, I use RO/di (AquaFX Barracuda). Running TLF reactor w/GFO. Bulb is 5 mos old par 38 from Wingo.
I ran a bigger return pump but it kept locking up on me after the hurricane. I changed it out with the mag7. Guess I went too small (I just had it laying around). CUC does a pretty good job it the DT. This is just in my fuge. Started about a week ago. Gonna pickup a new pump for the return. See how that does.
