baby snails

was wondering if this is normal. at night my tank gets loaded with these tiny snails. are they bad? or good?

Most likely good ,but without pic cant say ,at nite in my tank its like 10000000 of them come out and eat, they are white with a bit of tan on them ,they dont bother anything so its cool

i bet they are colonista snails if they look like what ronen described. i have tons, they breed like crazy and are great algae grazers. i see mine during the day too

Are they Collonista snails? They are very common in reef tanks and are definitely beneficial in large numbers as they are grazers. They don't get bigger than a pea. Check out this link and page down to the pics at Fig. 10. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rs/index.php

yes that is exactly what they are. i even find alot of them in my filter sox. where do they come from? i know i never put any of them in my tank.

Hitchhike in on live rock. They are nocturnal so if you look after lights out you may be surprised to see just how many you have. With enough of them you can almost eliminate the need for other rock grazing snails like turbos.

cool. i have seen a couple of these in all my tanks. i thought they were baby turbos. learn something new everyday.
