So my Coral Banded Shrimp has started to become aggressive - I watched him catch a Chromis by the tail and hold him for a bit.

I decided that I needed to catch him and put him in the hospital tank. I know this is not going to be easy!

Last night I was able to sneak up on him with the net while he was stalking a fish and I POUNCED!
Unfortunately I did not catch him and I managed to rip one of his hands off. We renamed him Jamie Lanister.

Here's how I have rectified bad behavior in my tank. Although it doesn't seem humane - it works great and hasn't killed anything to this date. I'm sure it can but when they are killing things it only seems right.

So far I have tridented* (lol) 3 rather large crabs that now reside in the sump where they hold battle royals.

I have also caught 2 yellow clown gobies in my Sps reef and both lived after a snag.

They are small pin like needles from a sewing kit glued to a 3foot acrylic rod. My fish know to run when they see this.

Edd, the more pins the better, I used less because I wanted a lower chance of a deadly blow. Put a piece of shrimp in a spot you can easily hit and time it.

Or you can attach the shrimp to the prong and let him get under to eat and trident the bastardo

You can make something pretty deadly lol but I'm not sure how many chances you will get until he recognizes it as a complete danger

My rock is straight from the ocean and has some pretty nasty stuff in it.

Spear fishing in your reef..LOL...use a tall smooth sided glass, longer than it's legs and claws can reach, and put a meaty food in it, spearing work great for CBSs,...lean it against the rockwork at night, they are nocternal hunters, it will slide in to get the food and won't be able to climb back out...be patient it may take a couple of nights....I have been using this method for many years and have caught all my unwanted crabs, pests this way....happy hunting.

My guy is only half the threat with a missing arm.
