All wrasse tank with a screen cover. I have about 35 wrasses split among 3 different tanks. Lots of jumping and splashing with these fishes.

In my experience, it's much easier maintaining an all wrasse tank than an all tang tank. Tangs need much more space and are far more aggressive towards each other than wrasses. I have four wrasses in my tank, ranging from a small cleaner wrasse to Pinkface wrasse without major issues. Not all wrasses are equal of course, you may find a SOB that is gonna make all other wrasses' life miserable, but with a little research it's easy to avoid species that are known to be aggressive. With tangs it's a little trickier, I've seen tangs that were model citizens for some time and then decided to turn violent and chase other fish around. What size tank you have in mind?

Oh no I'm not planing on doing either.... Lol.... It was just to start an interesting thread about what you guys think of both fish, that's it. On the record I have mostly wrasses. Love the leopard family and fairies as well.

I understand. I love both tangs and wrasses, but I've seen both in the wild and I think tangs don't belong in anything but the largest aquariums. And I'm saying that despite having a Kole tang in my tank- I guess observing fish in their natural environment thought me a valuable lesson:) What kind of wrasses you have?

The Halichoeres Species Wrasse has so many crazy looking wrasse and on the contrary, the Surgeon Fish (Tangs) have the Exclusive Zebrasoma bunch such as Gem, Black, Banana Scopas, Red Sea Desjardini and many other exclusive ones. It is a tough decision but why not do best of both worlds?
