Anyone has them? Any opinions about them? Pros cons, which model you use for what size tank? All I heard was good things about their skimmers and their bio pellet reactors. They suppised to have great costumer support as well. Before I get it I would love to hear the voice of MR about Reef Dynamics skimmers.
Thanks in advance.

I have one and love it.
I have the INS180 for my 150 DT with a 75 sump.
It is a monster, very solidly built, and the skimmer is quiet.

The biggest problem I have is the lack of a drain on the collection cup. It would be easy to install and add a vented waste can from another manufacturer.

Reef Dynamics size their skimmers closer to tank sizes than other manufacturers from what I have read. Their 350 would be for a medium stocked tank of 350 gallons.
I get really good production from mine but would not put this on a bigger system.

frank what size tank, and you can get the vertex line which is the same basic design but alot cheaper, and personally as i have had several euroreefs which is reef dynamics and it uses the same pump but a different name on it

My tank is 150 my sump is 75.
The similar Vertex skimmer was not the same dimensions. Vertex skimmers also have bubble plates which Reef Dynamics do not so it is not the same design. Not sure on build quality. I have had Aqua C, Bubble Magus, and this one. So far this quality far surpasses the others.

My tank is a 120 with a 40 sump probably on the heavy side of bio load. Currently have a reef octopus skimmer and does a good job but was thinking to replace it so this is how I came about with Reef Dynamics. Most likely will upgrade to a larger tank in the future so I wanted to get a bigger skimmer that I can use now but will not need to replace once the upgrade takes place.

A skimmer sized for an upgrade would probably be too big physically and could over skim this system.
I started designing my current system around this skimmer. You could find the capacity of your next upgrade and focus on that skimmer. Then build your next sump/tank around that.

Hi

I have used Euroreef (Reef Dynamics) skimmers since they hit the market many years ago. I have run an INS 180 on a 120g FOWLR system and and INS 135 on a 65g mixed reef. I cannot say enough good things about their products. They are hand made in the USA and are built for quality and last forever. I also run their their Bio-Pellet reactor. I am not a person who gets caught up with the latest fads or runs out to buy the new latest and greatest gadget. You wanted the opinion of someone who uses Reef Dynamics and that is what I am giving you:smile:. As far as other skimmers go I really am not going to debate anyone on who makes the best skimmer, but I will guarantee you that if you purchase a Reef Dynamic's product you will be happy with it.

PS I don't work for Reef Dynamics

Im really leaning towards the ReefDynamics skimmer. Im debating between the ins180 or the ins250. More likely I will get the 250 because they are rated for 200 gals with an average bio load. Since my tank is a 120 with a 40 gal sump about 140 gal water volume and I believe I have a heavy bio load it would work better than the 180.

So the 180 is enough? How is your bio load? They recommended the 350E but thats very pricy $1700.

+1, for that price ? i would buy Deluxe 10.5
ATB Deluxe 10.5 Protein Skimmer ( new $ 1.430 ) i see one use on forum for $ 800 , i got ATB 1050a v1.5
ATB 1050a v1.5 protein skimmer (use, from " Breakin Newz" member, God Bless him) super, super happy.:biggrinpa
