I have noticed a white discoloration on one side of my yellow watchman goby and its not getting better, kind of worried what is this? I've had him for a few weeks only. Thanx
Is he eating? Acting normally? Is he rubbing the area against the sand or rocks?
Anything in the tank that could have stung him?
Anyone chasing him that he could have scraped against some rocks?
If he is eating and acting his usual self, just keep your parameters spot on and he will likely heal and be fine.
He's eating , nobody picks on him, don't think he got stung I don't really have aggressive stinger coral. I don't have a fuge, I read they prefer one I guess they eat live cope or whatever, I've intalled a small ac70 fuge today maybe it'll help a little.
Mine had the same thing,I'm guessing mine got stung or bit.it took a few weeks to get better and looks fine now.i been feeding him food that has garlic in it to promote his appetite.

Almost one complete side of him was either white and translucent just like you mentioned with yours..as far as the food with garlic I'm sure there's others out there but I been feeding my fish the one in the picture below...it's a bit pricey(22bucks for a 5.3 oz) but my fish love it (its like crack to them)and it keeps them very healthy too.i have 2 clowns for well over 15 years and that's pretty much all I feed them..how long did you have the watchman goby?
I feed same stuff, also mysis and some other mixed carnivore frozen cube thing. Had goby for only a few weeks.
I'm worried he was shipped to me already sick w a parasite or something which is why I'm worried if I should quarantine him coz I don't want my other fish getting sick.
I don't have qt. I have my old 8gallon evolve tank, I wanted to make that into a fuge but maybe il have to make a qt. would I have to medicate him somehow or just feed him and hope for the best?
