So I have my 120 gal in my basement wall in the boiler/laundry room facing the mancave. I have a dehumidifier running in that room but before I place the dehumidifer I noticed averything turning to rust like tools, tops of paint cans etc. Now my wife wants me to take down the tank since it's open water/ and the filter is as well. I was thinking of placing egg crate on top and a clear light diffuser to help keep the "water" in the tank. Is there any other ideas? Thanks

You may want to get an exhaust fan with humidity control. A dehumidifier will work, but honestly they eat a ton of electricity and u still have to empty the reservoir. Deumidifier should work for now though, but that eventually will turn to rust and it will also cause more evaporation to your tank. Depending on the size of the room that may be a little, it may be alot. Salt takes a toll.

+1 ive been thinking about doing an in wall/ fish room tank and you absolutky have to have an exhaust fan and monitor the humidity in the room or else there will be alot of rust and eventually mold
