I tried all the top brands. Their is nothing that one brand is going to make your colors better or corals grow faster than other Salt. If your happy with the one your using and price is good. It's best to stick with one brand. Every time a new brand of salt comes out we think something amazing is going to happen. Best salt is the one that's on sale.

So not true. I have used them all and NOTHING i have seen beats ESV. Colors are more vibrant, growth is taking off and very easy to mix. Done in minutes rather then hours

I agree with Duke, i went through all the salt brands and i like nothing better then the ESV salt. Good Growth and amazing colors.

I was a big believer in ESV. It's still nice product. I used it for over 1 year. Pretty much when I turned into all SPS. I only used ESV. I than switched to Salinity.
Which is other good product. Didn't see any different except lighter wallet. I looked into all the big boys that had the best SPS tanks. From all over.. Guess what most of than use IO... And coral reef.... Cheapest in price . I believe your SPS does better if you stay with one salt. Other than that its all in your water chemistry if it stay stable all the time.... Only magic here is your money disappearing faster..

Then you're not shopping around... AND, you must also calculate that a 200g box of IO or RC and many other mixes, does not make 200g of 1.025 salt water, that ESV does

Exactly. When a salt says 200 gallons it means for alot lower salinity. Jeez all i hear on MR is price price price. Getting old really quick. Plus he asked what the best salt is not the best priced that will just work

Salinity price went up so did ESV. Both are going $90. Both were reasonable ESV was $70 same thing with Salinity. Only time if someone having sale. Believe me you won't see that to often. Just not worth it see no big difference.

So from $70 to $90 a extra $20........or less than $1.00 per day,a month is not worth it?
Ok to each his own.

1.The worth it for me in ESV is the ability to have a mix that is a consistent mix everytime.
You mix it yourself with exact measurements (I use a scale) every time because stability and consistency is important to me.

2.No rolling a bucket of salt because it has been sitting on a shelf and all the eliments might or might not be equally distributed in the bucket that has settled over time on the shelf.

3.The clarity in a mix.

4.The ability to mix it and use it Immediately.

5.And if nothing ells supporting a LI based company.

150 gallon mix of Coralife or Reef Crystal will not make 150 gallon at 1.025.
Not to mention (in my experience) you are going to have to add more supplements using those brands. So there is an added cost there.

Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. I've had great success with ESV in a SPS dominant tank.

If you are trying to keep it simple and keep your costs down then to each his own.

If you are trying to excel then why not go with a superior salt.
