Scoly or Cynarina Lighting Needs 29g Biocube LED

I have stock lighting on a Coralife biocube led 29g, would that be sufficient for a scoly or cynarina coral? I have not purchased either coral and I don't want to get rid of the biocube's hood. Should I forget it and buy another tank to house these corals? If that's the case what kind of lighting can I get for a 8-10g rimless tank. I also prefer the look of clamp lights.

Depends on how much par the biocube puts out... sometimes it may be too much and bleach out the coral.

Thanks Skene, it's only the third day running with normal lights on but the scoly looks fine. I understand that having a coral in a new tank for a few days and doing "fine" is not indicative that it will be sucessful long term because of other considerations that needs to be accounted for.
I'll report back on what results / changes in color in the future, and modifications in lighting, in hopes that this will help another MR member.

The main problem with the PCs on the Biocube is the heat output (in the summer), but otherwise it is plenty of light to keep both of those corals on the sand bed. I found a full BioCube 29 setup (on the street near my apt) so had to give it a shot. I like the tank a lot and it works very well as a small reef. I found the color spectrum (w 2 50/50 bulbs) still to white to my liking so added a few stunner strips into the hood as well.

Thank you both. Yeah, I noticed the heat climbed this past summer and had to resort to ice packs in double bagged "zip lock" bags. I have to figure out what's the plan for next summer! I should have looked at the forums before buying any of my tanks but I got some awesome deals between DFS and Marine Depot.

I always run the leds with the white lighting, it looks much better in my opinion. Corals appear healthy with the exception of one of my gonioporas, I could not get the full extension since I moved it. With this tank I think its the newer model, you could add 2 or 3 more? led bars.

There is a significant difference though between this 29g and my 8g innovative marine, the zoanthids in the 8g have a much better growth rate not sure if its attributable to lighting or the water parameters. I have the skyye lights led: white lights 14k running from 9:300-6:00 then blue from 6:00-10:00. I have several LPS corals in this tank, one of which is a nano trachy coral that's brighter and bigger than ever! I moved my bowerbanki from the 29 to the 8g and I'm seeing more color (green lines over the red). I'm assuming it's the lighting!
