You could plumb a valve in so you can control the flow. I think it sounds way too big. For gfo you want like 100-200gph if i recall correctly and somewhere like 90gph for carbon. For biopellets you'd want like 2-300. The mj1200 is 295gph

they say the mj900 are noisy

any suggestions on a pump that wouldn't contain to much modification? control valve wouldn't be too difficult. only difference between the 900 and the 1200 is $3

would a mj1200 be too much power to control a vertex reactor? wanna run rowaphos but I need it to tumble somewhat

I think MJ 1200 is good, forgot about 295 Gal./min. , you got that, if u run plain water, when u run media (biopellets,GFO, etc) pump got restrict, also u can use one "T" and one valve to got the best tumble.

thanks for the picture vio. I have another question then. Since you think the mj1200 would be fine do you think it would be possible to run 2 reactors off of the mj1200? 1 for carbon, the other for rowaphos(gfo). Looking forward to your next illustration

I don't think is good idea, small pump ,got easy bad, clogged, etc.
Option A use monifold
Option B start dosing (carbon, Vodka,Vinegar) than no need for GFO, use ESV Active carbon next to return pump.

I have a manifold now. Its connected to my gold hammerhead pump. for some reason I can't get enough flow through my manifold to have my media tumble in my reactors. thats why I am going with a pump. I imagine if i increased the power of the pump but limited the flow going to my tank upstairs(my sump is in my basement) it would give more flow to my reactors therefore making my media tumble in my reactors

Yes,u right, now just to now, not sure who help u to make the manifold, but.....

"Matter fact 90 degree fittings do hurt the flow rate, so try to avoid not to use them if you can and if it's necessary to use them then use the one with smooth cruves.

avoid using these if you can." C/P

use MJ 1200 is only 20 W.

my manifold was mad by richie kargolzer. He set up everything. There are no 90 degree angles on the manifold. It goes straight up with 3 T's. Maybe when it get warmer outside I will tinker with it but for now I am going to concentrate/ figure out what would be the best way/method for me to run 2 reactors. 1 for carbon, the other for rowaphos

not sure if it is dialed back or not but I do have a ball valve in which I control the flow to the main tank right before my manifold. Right after the manifold there is another ball valve. I am almost certain if I turn the valve up for more water pressure but reduce it going to the tank from the last ball valve I would get more pressure going into the manifold therefore getting more pressure/water running to my manifold to be able to control the flow of the reactors
