I looked in my tank for the first time in 3 days and saw that my corals were not opening. On of the power heads wires was putting off bulbs into the water. I have a stong smell of low tide my skimmer is working double time. Fish are fine Sea urchin looks dead. My hammers are all closed, my caps are turning white. I unplugged the power head. What next cross my fingers or do a massive water change? Working with a 120 gal tank by the way.

Sorry to hear about this :(
You also want to run carbon - if you aren't already - or put in new carbon if you do.
Lot's of water changes & cross your fingers..sometimes they all bounce back!
Please do keep us updated.

Unfortunately this happened to me more than once, the last time it did my sump light fell into my sump, and it was in the sump until I got home from work, if it?s just electricity that got into the water than just give you tank a day or two, and it will go back to normal.

So add some new carbon and did a 30% water change last night. I dont see any snails left in the tank. The urchin is still moving his mouth but looks to be in horrible shape. Should I just pull him now before he dies? The room still smell like low tide. My hammers are still alive. I have about 200 sq inchs of red cap that has almost fadded to white. I broke a piece off and took it out and it didnt slim up at all does this mean its dead? Should I pull the cap. I just dont want anything else contaminating the tank any further
