Fed ex shipping overnight

It seems fed ex start to do lousy job on shipping when ever i buy fish overnight some time i have to pickup because late delevery or wx issue even tho box state tropical live fish.
I just bought 6 inch purple tang +5 inch sohail atng+5 inch achilies it was overnight i suposte to recieved it on friday morning ,but still waiting i bet all fish dead also my 5 anathanis ne help from costumer services

The whole reason I've never ordered fish online during the holiday season especially but as well as in the dead of winter. The shipments just always seemed to get messed up.

Good luck, I know there's really not hope there but miracles have happened. Sorry you're going through this. Sucks to lose fish due to a companies lack of concern.

Online prices are much better. Not everyone wants to support a lfs that kills their wallet and possibly sells sick fish. A lot of cnj fish stores arent the best tbt.

Same, LFS are pretty bad. I live next to 3, all of them are horrible, their tanks are full of algae, they want 80 dollars for a baby yellow tang that has ich, mushroom corals go for 30 dollar a head (like regular red mushrooms at many of us throw out) and their employees know next to nothing about saltwater.

Not a LFS.

As a former employee of a store NONE of us have a right to chastise someone for not shopping for 100% of their purchases at stores. I have witnessed so many acts that I've scratched my head at.

When people go into a store they go in their with the idea they're going to haggle. Like the price on the tanks are always negotiable as if they entered an auction hall. So with that being said how much are the people trying to pay less, usually way less than what the store feels they need to charge to keep the doors open truly supporting that store? Not nearly as much as you'd think if they got the deals they want if the stores caved. Then when they don't they get flamed on the forums.

The online vendors also tend to have more specialty fish in sometimes because a store won't stock them due to most customers won't spend the money for a high dollar fish.

Leave the guy alone. You buy where you want to buy from, he'll buy where he wants to.

Also notice there are no exclamation marks in my post lol.

FedEx and UPS have no special designations for most packages containing live animals. When the route optimizing computer needs to bump some packages from a flight, they're lumped in with all other similar packages regardless of how many times LIVE FISH is slapped on the outside. Before ordering live animals that need to be shipped it's always a good idea to check the weather for the next few days; in this case, a massive winter storm disrupted travel across the middle of the country, forcing FedEx to delay several shipments in Indianapolis. Most online vendors are willing to hold your goods a few days if you have concerns about the weather, and several of the bigger ones will proactively warn you if it looks dicey.

The prob with most LFS is that they are all in some sort of fin. distress and they are not carrying high end stuff so we are forced to find stuff online and buy from online stores, i bet there isnt one LFS in the tri state area that has all of those fish mentioned in stock right now. Beside the fact that half the vendors here on MR are online vendors..

I hope you are not putting the Sohal and Achilles in the same tank unless you have a VERY large tank. Those are two very aggressive tangs not to mention the Purple can also be very aggressive.

Please do a little research before adding all these fish together.

I feel for you. I imagine the bad weather in the midwest and the volume of shipping Fed Ex is dealing with now is to blame. Still sucks.

Where did you order from? If you haven't already I would contact the vendor you purchased from and let them know about the shipping issues.

LiveAquaria/Diver's Den switched to UPS a while back for a variety of reasons. Their priority overnight (IE before 1030 AM) is vastly superior to FedEx's. FedEx never, ever made their delivery window coming to my place in the city. Usually they made it around 11-1115, not really that late, but in winter with live fish...it got annoying. Last year they blew it once by 3 hours. Last week, I made the mistake of ordering from BlueZoo and FedEx showed up at 4:45 PM. You probably saw the steam coming out of my ears. 1 DOA hermit, Naso is OK - maybe - but still lethargic and not exactly hungry and the 2 wrasses almost definitely didn't make it. They both burrowed right after acclimation and I've seen one for about 10 seconds since. Fingers are staying crossed, but the extra 6 hours in the bag definitely didn't help.

UPS isn't perfect, but it's better than FedEx in my experience since LA switched. And Live Aquaria is your friend. Kevin Kohen is a good man and runs a good operation.

End rant.

that is correct fed ex is no good this was my probabaly 9th or 10th experiance from fed ex even buying from ny overnight delevery never made it on time some time i have to drive for an 1 hour to pickup item supose to be on my dr at 1030.

i had all off them over 6 inch in same 240 gal and no issues with powder blue

i got today my delevery after 5 days all the fish were frozen dead i mean dead frozen even the box said tropical live fish keep box indoor but i guss they donot care
